Back in buisness.

School is back in session for me and I needed it. Home school is what keeps me happy, cheerful, and in total an all around nicer person. The ability to focus on some work helps me not look at the smaller things that would normally get me mad. I can get mad and I do have good restraint but Home school helps me out immensely in comparison to breaks which for the most part are used to postpone work in the future. All in all schools back for the rest of the week and no more snow in the reports.

I had a great break don't get me wrong on that. In fact it made things easier for me to work on helping Cindy walk Chewy, the dog who I get paid for walking. Chewy is a Dachshund, Shitzu mix and he is extremely cute and energetic. He lived with us while Cindy was living with the family but since she still had to go to work I had to walk him at noon every day. I decided that once she moved that since I was already walking him at noon then I could walk him because she still lives nearby. The coolest part is that I am getting paid to walk Chewy so it's a win win situation.

Sorry that I didn't write down anything yesterday at all but I forgot in general. There wasn't much to do yesterday since things are starting to refreeze outside the snow has turned from being able to be moulded to powdered snow that can't even make a snowball. My snowman in progress got wrecked in the middle of the night and it was really hard work to just make the base. I really didn't leave the house much at all yesterday because I didn't have a reason. I'm glad to be able to get back into the swing of things and I will see you all again tomorrow.

Snow Storm: Part 2

You all should know by now that I had gotten the last week off due to a snowstorm that came through. Interesting part is that round 2 is coming with another snowstorm that is supposed to be as bad if not worse. The funny thing is that I will have Tae Kwon Do tonight so far because they haven't sent an email to me yet. For the most part I am expecting to go to Tae Kwon Do but as far as I know I might not make it there another day of the week. I have never missed a Monday or Thursday class unless there is testing or the dojo is closed for that day. I do hope that there is classes today because going to long without going to class makes it that when you do go back the classes will be really hard.

Classes went for the most part normal lately as there is no distractions at the house currently. This week will go on like any other if there isn't any snow but it shouldn't start until people start getting home from school and that's at about 3:00 or 2:00. I don't know what will be happening tomorrow but I do know that if there is not another snow day things will continue as if nothing happened.

I don't know if I mentioned my current job which may be small but it is for the most part my first decent job. I am only walking a dog Monday through Friday but I get 10 dollars at the end of the week. This last week I only got 5 dollars but thats because the owner was at the house and was able to walk the dog themselves. I can earn some more money if it doesn't snow so I don't mind some days off but there are some consequences.

A Real Snowday

Today I decided to actually go outside for a while and I got some real fun time in until the little kids came out. One of the kids decided to declare a snowball war on us so we accepted and went off to make our bases. The little kids decided to use someones that none of them had built base who worked hard all night to make the base and we had 30 minutes. The base that was already made had been carved out to make a tunnel so they had a well made igloo for the most part. We had no way to make a decent base to defend ourselves against these other kids so we decided to find a large pile of snow that had already been set up and carve at it and that didn't work at all so we had to go without a base. Anyway during the war me and friend A retreated while Friend B distracted a large group of kids. In the end the battle ends because the base that was made before the fight was being used by the Friend A as a way to defend himself from the large group of kids and the kids decided that this was mean and to freak out over it. My team decided to just head in as a way of avoiding further conflict.

School was canceled again today. In fact school had been canceled yesterday at the end of yesterdays school day. I know I have already talked about that it will be a four day weekend, and who knows maybe if the snow lasts long enough there can be an even longer weekend. I am not saying that I want an even longer weekend because I had a hard enough time adjusting to the 4 day weekend from grandmas and now there is an even bigger chance of a break at the end of the official weekend. I am hoping for a shortish break because I know that the weekend is already going to last to the minimum of Sunday.

To all of the people who have decided to read this dismal excuse of a blog on their normal schedules while still knowing it's vacation for me then thank you. I really am thankful because I do aim quite to have people read my blog but I am not to eager to spread the word. Views haven't improved much at all and to the people that have been with this blog since the beginning then thank you for spending some time out of your day to check out my blog. I need only 33 more views on my blog until we reach 2000 views if that tells you anything. It is an exciting event for me at the minimum and I know that it won't matter to most people but thank you all for your contributions.

Apology accepted

As I mentioned yesterday the snow storm is a way of the world saying sorry for no snow during the middle of the winter. Well I have to say apology accepted because I had problems walking outside without getting soaked. I can't go sledding because the snow is so deep that my sled would fall in with me on it. And the snow is powdered so I can't make snowballs or a snowman. All in all this has been a great snow day and tomorrows school has already been canceled so we all have another 4 day weekend to relax for the most part.

I wish there was more to talk about today but since my siblings were home my home school is canceled because of how hectic it would be. I didn't do much today because there isn't much to do around the house other then reading, napping, and gaming. I don't think there is much to discuss in any of these things so I'll just stick with that there is very little to do around the house. I did get to go outside but that was to shovel the driveway and that wasn't exactly fun.

I was told that it would be a good idea to go around and shovel driveways for money. I don't think that any of my siblings would help and we only have one shovel. It doesn't make things very easy does it. First off there is my brother who was complaining about his back being sore and then there is my little sister Zoe who wouldn't be very much help as far as I know. Then there is the fact that I don't know how long any of us would last outside in this weather as Zoe had to come inside after 20 minutes of shoveling snow and when I was out there I didn't realize how cold I was until I stepped inside and then I realized just how bad it was out there.

Snows coming

All over Missouri there is a massive snow storm that is supposed to be coming in. I think this is the weathers way of saying sorry for not having snow during the middle of winter. I have no problem with snow at all as it will make things much more fun for a while. What I have been forgetting is that it is still technically winter so today while I was walking chewy I brought along my beloved Baseball cap and nearly froze my ears off. The temperatures down here are below freezing at the moment so I really do think that we will have some good amounts of snow this week and who knows, maybe it will last into next week.

Today I was given a show to watch to type about for my blog. This show is called Frontline and this was based on going more in depth into the Sandy Hook shooting which most people might still remember this as a worse event then the columbine shooting of 1999. The shooter was a man known as Adam Lanza who ended up shooting his mom before going over to his old school and killing 20 children and 6 adults in total. I was told to watch this show and then tell about my opinion of the Frontline review. First of all I think that it got some information out that needed to get out for example Adam Lanza's mom was not a gun toting psycho. In fact his mom was very social and tryed very hard to have her child live as much of a normal life with his Asberger disease. Sadly there was much to many changes in Adam's life for him to keep up as he was very sensitive to change and some think that he couldn't cope with the change and that was the straw that broke the camels back.

Things in the household are finally calming down to the point where I can go on living a normal lifestyle. Normal enough for me that is. Anyway,  My reading is still the same books that I have been reading the last week or 2. I can't really keep track of those kind of things but either way nothing has been too out of the ordinary today so lets hope that things don't get to out of hand this week.

Field Work

Today I went to a National Geographic lecture with dad and it was interesting enough and certainly kept my attention. The lecture was being given by a Marine biologist that has been working with Nat. Geo for 15 years and specializes with sharks. The lecture focused more on saving the environment and the sea life but he also showed the ocean as something good. For example he showed peaceful pictures of sharks, he talked about turtles and his work with them, and he talked about sea manatees and honestly those manatees looked like they needed one big hug because they looked as if they were extremely depressed. There was technical difficulty with the slide before the lecture so he had to go back through all of the slides to start from the beginning.

Me and dad got some quality time together and this is pretty good for me as we get to see him as a family but not often do we get to sit down individually and talk. Of course I get to see him a little bit more often then the others but that doesn't make those moments less special. Today me and dad ended up going to a place known as the Thai place. The food was great and me and dad both ordered Panang  curry which was a little bit spicy but definetly not the spiciest thing on the menu. Anyway me and dad got some time together in and I really did enjoy it all as he was the one who brought me to the lecture and me and him sat there listening.

Getting back into habit has been a little bit of a problem for me at the moment. I would've forgotten to post anything today if it weren't for Kristi reminding me. Even more is that today of all days isn't exactly very easy at all because we will be heading out at about 5:30 tonight and not be back until about bedtime. The reason is that my grandma is going to be graduating and we are going to be their for that then we are going to go and eat dinner as a family as we do every night.

Down South

I got to go to grandmas house down south for the 4 day weekend and it was great. I was going to post my blog on Friday but I completely forgot about it and never got around to it while I was at grandmas. For the most part this is my apology for not posting on Friday and letting someones hopes down. I know that most people don't view my blog on a daily basis but if there is someone that does then I am sorry. On Friday I spent my school day relaxing and then my grandma showed up and we went out shopping for quilting supplies. Yep you heard it here I am quilting and sewing with grandma and it is not easy. I had a design I wanted to do and I had to do quite a bit of calculations and I still haven't done any work on the fabric yet.

I didn't just do work over at grandmas house. In fact we had a really good time and this time I tryed not to destroy every last bit of money in her wallet. In this week she ended up offering my more then what I was asking for and she kept on offering me stuff I wanted. For example we got to go out and eat at some really good places like the chicken shack which is owned by some family on my grandpas side and we went there after church. We also got to eat at Dairy Queen where we just went there for dessert and I got a chocolate cherry with snickers blizzard and grandma got a peanut buster parfait. I may have had a little bit to do with going to DQ as I love ice cream above all other dessert.

While I was just at grandmas house we cooked some and just sat back and relaxed. That is when we weren't working on the quilt. We did do some cooking at her house including we made wantons and also some sesame toast to help add some sweetness to the meal. The time over there was fun for me when I wasn't working on the quilt as grandma can be really calm and we could talk to eachother and just laugh the night away. Literally we sat there laughing for a good hour or two as we just traded stories back and forth.

Faith well placed.

Today I got finished with all of my school work early and I am happy. Not only did I finish todays school work at 11:15 but then I got all of my work for tomorrow done as well. I was getting really spinny and thinking that I couldn't get all of the work done before tomorrow. Honestly Kristi had more faith in me then I had in myself in this case. It's not that I didn't have any confidence its that I was extremely afraid of everything turning bad at the last second.

I have this immense feeling that this week is going to go just fine for me. I am not saying that this is going to be the best weekend ever but everything is going well and nothing has really screwed up yet. In fact this week has had quite a bit of work but that got finished early. My friends haven't been able to come around this week but that made the house somewhat peaceful and quiet. Nothing can be completely quiet. All in all This week has come together nicely and its only half way done.

For a four day weekend I don't know how much of a weekend it actually will be. The reason why I am saying this is because I don't know how much work I will have while I am at grandmas and if this will be easy or a pain in the neck. Even more is that I have no idea what is all being planned for this weekend at all because while I have work at grandmas I don't know what grandma may or may not be planning. I don't mind a weekend where I will have to work as I enjoy having something to do as long as it doesn't leave me bored as well.

Spring is Springing

The weather has been starting to get that spring feel lately. You know the damp, chilly, sunny weather that is so accustom to spring. Maybe not but over in Missouri this is how it is. I love the damp and chilly but the sunny part is just not for me. Whenever it is bright outside I keep my head to the ground and wear my ball cap that I love so much. I don't own a decent pair of sunglasses and that's fine for now but Spring is coming up and it is about time for things to start wrapping up the school year.

Today I was continuing to work ahead and of course by working ahead I managed to get even further then yesterday. If everything continues at this rate then I won't have to worry about work on Thursday. The reason why I say Thursday is because we have a four day weekend coming up so I won't have school on Friday or Monday. This is also one of the reasons why I am going over to grandmas of all weekends. My work is pretty much done for the day so I don't have to worry about Thursday to much and Friday isn't a concern at all.

Most of my work nowadays is pretty much all a whole bunch of reading. My current curriculum has me reading 4 different books every day. Even harder is that somehow I manage to read all 4 of these before lunch. Now I don't have to read the entire book or else it would be almost impossible to do my reading before lunch but I still have to read quite a bit daily. Work isn't getting any easier and this weekend isn't going to be a cake walk either. All I can ask for at the moment is that things don't get to out of hand.

Buisness

This week is going to be one of the hardest that I have had in a long time. The thing is that I have a larger amount of work then usual and then I am going to be going over to my grandmas for a home EC class. I am really happy to see grandma here soon as I haven't seen grandma Kathy in a while. The reason why grandma is teaching me is because first of all she is a certified teacher and she hasn't gotten to teach a class to me the entire time and secondly almost no one in this house hold is good with a thread and needle and then even worse is that we don't have any of the necessary supplies here while grandma has everything ready to go. All in all I look forward to the weekend up at my grandmas house and to the new set of curriculum.

This week I am going to be needing to read ahead as there is quite a bit on my plate each day. Even more is that when grandma arrives on Thursday as it is a 4 day weekend I will be going shopping with her for my supplies. The week is going to be busy but only as busy as I make it as if I continue to work ahead in the week when Thursday rolls around I will be ready to head out before grandma gets here but I have always had a problem with working ahead. The problem that I always seem to face in my head is that if I work ahead I won't have anything to do when the next day comes  around.

I have gotten yet another book to top off this week and its name is The Power of Half. This book is about a family who decides to sell off half of there stuff including their house and then buying a smaller house and deciding to live a simpler life. This life does include helping out other people with there money and time. In the beginning you read about how the family is in a small town where they have little support from the larger countries as they are barely recognized. They decide to come in and help them set up a mill to grind the corn which helps make the base of most of their meals daily.

Tae Kwon Flop

Last night was my testing in Tae Kwon Do and I got my new belt but it was a really embarrassing night for me. What happened is that I went to testing with an open mind and with the knowledge that there was going to be two special guests there to help judge us and our forms. These two special guests happened to be 2 of the 5 only 7th degree black belts in all of Missouri. I was really happy to get the chance to see them and I practiced my form and stances vigorously to please the judges. Before I can go up to test I have to wait for them to call me so I sat patiently in the back of the dojo. The problem is that since I tried to keep perfectly still before testing my left leg fell asleep. I didn't have time before my form to wake up my leg so I had to continue with no complaints and it hurt. Even worse is that I then went back to sit down my foot falls into an even deeper slumber which eventually comes to bite me in the butt because when I stand up to receive my new belt I almost fall over because of how lopsided I felt. The hardest part is that if you remember correctly I was being judged by 2 of the 5 only 7th degree black belts in Missouri. I left feeling horrible as I left a terrible first impression as because my leg was asleep my form was sloppy and not even half as good as I can do. All in all last night was not a night to forget for me.

My work has been doing good lately because I have been working on some of the harder work in the morning to get it out of the way so I can work on the other easy yet longer bits of work. For example I work on French in the morning so that I can work on work like reading all 3 of my books and understand what I read before lunch. After lunch I work on the last of my work which is usually my  Codecademy, paper, and then blog. This works out really well for me as it keeps me being able to relax and not worry about getting my work done by the end of the day. I like this so far as the process has not failed me and it makes it so that I can be finished at 2:00.

I have been given something to write about today so this paragraph is just that. Kristi told me to tie up what I am reading lately with current events. What I am reading about is the different ethnicity and their lives during World War 2. This is in both my books so what do you think of when you start thinking of World war 2. The dropping of the atomic bomb, Hitler, the mass cases of genocide, and some more. Either way all of these were a horrible point in time and the one that caught me was the 3rd one. Not exactly a pleasant topic but when you think about it genocide is happening all around the world today. Places include Burma, Libya, even the Congo. I honestly didn't know that these were occurring as I don't watch the news and none of these are to close to home so they never affected me. Then I think how much different is this from the mass cases of genocide during World War 2. There is no difference yet I treat one with more emotion then the other. The one that still can be fixed doesn't seem like much of a problem to me then there is the one that has already occured and makes me grimace when I think of it. These are both one in the same only one has already happened and the other one is just sitting there while people like me ignore this and go on with their lives.

Homeless Helpers in trouble

Today I was told to look at this specific website and it left me completely baffled. Saying that the people that are helping keep the homeless alive are instead causing more problems then solutions. This is quite hurtful to what I have seen as I watched the homeless people who had little to nothing. The people I have seen out there need some help when they can't do anything about their situation. All of them deserve a chance to live out in the world. We don't have the right to say who must die but we do have the right to say that we can help you live.

Out first I didn't notice the homeless people who lived downtown on the park benches and under bridges but after my first day in made to serve I saw them almost everywhere. The people who were kind, some were a bit rough, and the people who just couldn't speak for themselves when they needed it most. I saw the world outside my little suburban neighborhood and I didn't like it. This is why there are people who are helping because not all of the homeless can defend themselves when they need ti most.

My day has gone pretty well. I spent most of my time trying to figure out what to type in the second paragraph up above. I feel very strongly about this but I was never the best with words. My work went well as I got through all of my work pretty early today considering it was almost an exact duplicate of yesterday only I didn't have to work on my paper today. Yep no interesting events today other then the 2 paragraphs above.

Think Globally Eat Locally.

Today me and Kristi got to go out and grab a bite to eat so that I could get outside the house at least once this week. We went to a place known as Rusty Horse Tavern. Definitely an interesting name but much better then the name gives away. The Rusty Horse Tavern is an amazing restaurant where all of the food is made locally. In fact they get all of their meat ground up from a place known as Mcgonigles. The place is family friendly to boot with a kids menu, vegetarian meals, soups, and some really good burgers. The atmosphere is very laid back with lighting that isn't bright but just right. The service was great but the main problem with this restaurant is it's dreadful location. In order to find it you actually have to be looking for it as you can't see it from the highway which is just a couple roads down. While I was there I had a pretzel for an appetizer which was served with a smoked cheddar sauce and some Dijon mustard. Then I had a burger with fries that I split with Kristi that was extremely delicious. All in all I would give this place a 8.5 to 9 because the place wasn't perfect but it was still really good.

Today I got finished with my work pretty early considering the fact that it is only 1:30 and I had all of my work done before I went out to eat lunch. I achieved this using thirty minutes before the actual school day started. I got done with everything at about 11:30 and this is really good for me as it is really nice out at the moment. I mean it is just beautiful because it is almost 65 degrees out with a mild breeze over here. I am quite glad that I got done early but too bad I still haven't gotten around to airing back up the tires on my bike.

I got a couple new books to read and both of them are about someones life both non-fiction. One is called Silver Like Dust and it is about a girl telling the story of her family which is Japanese and had to suffer through World War 2. Life was extremely hard for them as they all had to be imprisoned the entire War. The other book that I am reading is The Diary of a Young Girl by Ann Frank. By the way that is literally the name of this book. It is based off of a Jewish family during World War 2. Their life is also extremely difficult as they live in Germany as well and this is the story of a child during this time.

Nothing Fancy

Work has gone by pretty well today because I worked on the sources for quotes for an extra hour and 1/2. Because of that I was able to do today's work fairly easy with very little struggle. All of the work took little amounts of work today because what I had to do with the quotes was plug them into my already existing paper and then add a bibliography at the end of the paper to cite my sources. The problems that I was having yesterday have all but vanished.

Python has been going really well lately because of Codecademy. I love the website as it literally tells me exactly what I need to do and gives examples and hints that makes Codecademy extremely easy to work with. What makes it even better is that Python is already one of the easiest programming languages to use. I don't even need to stop there because they have more languages like java, C++ Or even Ruby. What adds the tasty cherry on top is that it is all completely free so if you don't know some programming language what are you doing still reading my blog go and look up Codecademy,

School goes on as usual with nothing extremely interesting going on. Blogs get harder to write every day that I can honestly say were interesting. I try to make subjects grab the readers attention but it gets even harder every day. I will have to say  I do enjoy writing my blog every day but things are getting increasingly difficult the more things I have to write about as nothing is going on in home school all the time. I do intend to keep in home school and continue to write my blog for a long time.

citations

I am having some really nasty troubles finding different quotes for my opinion paper. My opinion paper is all about global warming and I have  to find quotes that I can put into my already existing paper. I have been looking for about 1 hour and have only found 1 out of the 3 I need. Of course I need to get it done this week and I do not know how much more of this I will need to do this week leaving me fearing how this week will end.

Today went by pretty easily other then the work on citations and some writing assignments that wasn't that hard just had some difficulty with the nook. The problem with the nook was that I needed to pull some information from a book for a writing project that is not my opinion paper. Other then that all I had to do today was citing sources, reading, french, and blog.

The weekend was pretty darn awesome as the family had an anti super bowl party. The reason for this is because all of us in the family are not exactly fans of and kind of sports. I like playing baseball but I never liked watching someone else play the game I wish I could be playing. Football on the other hand none of us like playing and none of us like watching as far as I know. Because no one in the family enjoys football we had a party and invited guests but watched none of the Superbowl. We watched movies, had a taco bar, and just talked.

Home Work Friday

Today we were not able to go to our destination so instead Kristi came up with a backup plan. This consisted of ordering pizza and watching an educational movie. The movie was known as Food inc. and it was great. It showed how little I actually knew about where my food was coming from and how high the risks really are. Even scarier is how much is truly owned by a select few factories who don't want the world to know what is truly going on. For example a good chunk of chicken based products is owned by Tyson. People have been sued and lost tons of money of disclose the truth behind how they treat there chickens.

I know that many of you would like to know where I would've gone today if we were allowed to but I thought it would better not to tell people until I have been there myself. I thought that it would be pretty interesting to leave everyone wondering where I will be going. I don't know much of what I will be doing when I get there but I do know that I am extremely lucky to even be allowed inside this place.

Food inc has gotten me thinking on how powerful is incentive truly. No one part of government is immune to the magnetic pull of money and its many benefits. The incentive for Tyson keeping there operations secret is that they get to produce cheap and large amounts of chicken and rake in tons of money at the expense of the people who have no idea what they are eating. Incentive is a powerful force and no one denies this but to see the world crumble around us due to the power of incentive is truly eye opening.
